2 Day Art - Standard Assignments

Students in 2 day Art will finish the year by creating dragons...

 

2 Day Art will be completing their 2 point perspective tree houses this week. They must use correct perspective and color these with attention to detail. 

We have completed our study of 1 point perspective and will continue to develop our linear perspective skill development with 2 point perspective treehouse designs. 

 

 

 

Students are studying composition and movement by looking at The Great Wave by Hokusai.  Inspired by the composition in this work, students will create their own "wave" composition in oil pastel.

 

 

FOR 6TH and 7TH GRADE STUDENTS ONLY:

Students will begin research on this in class Monday as they complete their Koi Fish.  We will complete this assignment after Spring Break.

 

8TH GRADE will do an alternative version of this lesson on March 20th in class

 

Sketchbook Assignment For first week of March: 

 

 

 

Week of Jan. 30th - Students will complete their self portrait pencil drawings on Monday and we will then start a unit on scientific illustration and the human heart on Friday. 

 

 

Monday we will be out to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Friday in class today we will be creating a basic portrait to understand proportions.  Next week we will start self portraits.  Students will need a photo of them (shoulders up, no filters) to work from.  They can print this at home or email it to me and I will print it.  Photos should be in for class on the 23rd, otherwise students will draw from a mirror. 

 

 

This assignment will be due at the end of class on Friday:

 

 

 

 

Monday we will complete our leaves and Friday we will begin our Atmospheric Trees. 

After deciding paint is not the way to go for this short week...we are making some cans :)

 

 

Class Assignment Starting on Monday 11/7 and due by end of class on 11/14

 

 

OCTOBER SKETCHBOOK PROJECT: 

 

 

 

The questions and character are due as a sketchbook assignment on 9/23

 

 

Friday in class we will be doing contour line drawings, the in class drawing will be a project grade.  For this week's sketchbook we will be continuing to practice contour lines of a cat.  See the below assignment information for full understanding.

 

This assignment was started in class and will be collected on Friday 9/2.   I will not be meeting with my 2 day classes on Monday due to school pictures.  I will not get a chance to remind students of this due date. Please make sure to complete this as it is your first sketchbook assignment of the year. 

Students will begin this pre-assessment on the first day of class.  Anything they do not complete in class will be finished and turned in as their first sketchbook grade. 

 

This lets me see what art concepts students have retained from their previous art classes.
