Weekly Agenda:

Hello students and parents! Welcome to another year of Physical Education at Schilling Farms Middle School! We can’t wait to see all the students back in the gym and working hard to stay healthy.

AUGUST 9th-19th Issue Assigned Seats/Collect Heath Forms/Issue Uniforms/ Fill Out Fitness Gram Fitness Forms, Review Fire Drill Procedures when in Phys. Ed.

AUGUST 22nd-26th General Conditioning: Introduce Warm-up, Stretching, Strength & Aerobic (PACER) Conditioning Program.


AUGUST 29th - September 2nd: We will begin our fitness testing (sit ups, push ups, pull ups, sit and reach, pacer test). Testing will take approximately two weeks to finish. Students will run the 20 meter pacer and graph their results for September. 
 
SEPTEMBER 6th-9th: This week we will be continue reviewing/introducing our FitnessGram Fitness Testing, in regards to standard scores and skill technique. We will also review our SFMS Final Four Fitness Testing Challenge, in regards to standard scores to achieve to EARN a dry fit shirt.
 
 
SEPTEMBER 12th - SEPTEMBER 15th (No school for students on Friday, SEPTEMBER 16th).
*We will finish up our fitness testing with all of our classes (sit ups, push ups, pull ups, sit and reach, pacer test.)
*We will also be starting our sports unit.  My class will be participating in Ultimate Frisbee first.  We will begin our unit with passing & catching drills.
 
SEPTEMBER 19th - SEPTEMBER 23rd
*We are continuing our unit on soccer. Students will participate in passing drills.
*Students will get study guides this week.  Students will take their test the first day they come to PE next week.
 
SEPTEMBER 26th - SEPTEMBER 30th
*We are finishing our unit on soccer. Students will participate in shooting drills, as well as play soccer games.
*Students will take their soccer test the first day they come to PE this week.
 
*P.E. MAKE UP DAYS ARE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, AND THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, AT 6:45 A.M.  Students should report to the gym at 6:45 a.m., dressed in their PE clothes, ready to participate in a PE class.
 
OCTOBER 3rd - OCTOBER 7th
*We are running the Mile Run this week to finish up our FitnessGram testing.
 
OCTOBER 10th - OCTOBER 14th
ENJOY YOUR FALL BREAK! 
 
OCTOBER 17th- OCTOBER 21st
*We will begin our NEW unit in Golf. We will introduce, grip, stance and swing - Chipping
 
OCTOBER 24th- OCTOBER 28th
*We will continue our Golf unit. We will also continue working on grip, stance and swing- Driving 
 
NOVEMBER 7th- NOVEMBER 10th
*This week we will introduce music to our Warm-up, Stretches and Strength Exercises. In addition, this week we will be introducing Soccer: Trapping & Passing.

*This week we will be reviewing Soccer: Trapping & Passing. In addition, we will introduce techniques in Control and Speed Dribbles. We will also be handing out Study Guides for our Soccer Test and review the Study Guide, later in the week.
 

NOVEMBER 21 - NOVEMBER 22
*We are finishing our unit on Soccer. Students will take their test this week -- the first day they come to P.E.
*Students will take the skills they have learned apply them in game situations.
 
NOVEMBER 23 - NOVEMBER 27

NOVEMBER 28 - DECEMBER 2
We are starting our unit on Bowling.  Students will learn the 4-Step Approach and practice bowling on our bowling lanes in the gym.
 
DECEMBER 5 -DECEMBER 9
We are continuing our unit on Bowling. Students will speed bowl and see how many pins they can knock down in 1 minute.
 
DECEMBER 12 -DECEMBER 16
We are running the 20 meter Pacer test and graphing our results for December.

 January 3 - January 6 ~ HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

This week we are reviewing our policies and procedures in P.E. 

We may also run the 20 meter Pacer test and graph our results for January.

January 9 - January 13

We are starting our unit on basketball.  Students will learn the control dribble and speed dribble.

January 17 - January 20

We are continuing our unit on basketball. Students will learn the chest pass and bounce pass.

January 23 - January 27

We are continuing our unit on basketball.  Students will learn how to shoot free throws.  

January 30 - February 3

We are continuing our unit on basketball. Students will learn how to shoot free throws.   Students will apply the skills they've learned in class by playing games of basketball.   

We will also be running the 20 meter Pacer and graphing our results for February.

Students will get their basketball study guides this week.  Students will take their test next week (the first day they come to P.E.).

 

February 6 - February 9 (No school on Friday due to District Learning Day)

Students will take their basketball test the first day they come to PE this week.

Students will play games of basketball.

February 20 - February 24

We are starting our volleyball unit. Students will learn the Underhand Serve.

 

February 27 - March 3

We are continuing our volleyball unit. Students will learn the Bump Pass.

*PE MAKE UP DAYS FOR QUARTER 3 ARE TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, AND THURSDAY, MARCH 2,  AT 6:45 A.M.  STUDENTS SHOULD COME TO THE GYM AT 6:45 A.M. IN THEIR PE CLOTHES, READY TO PARTICIPATE IN A PE CLASS. 

 

March 6 - March 10

We are continuing our volleyball unit.  Students will learn the Set Pass.

March 13 - March 17 -- SPRING BREAK!! 

Have a great Spring Break!!

Students will also run the 20 meter Pacer and graph their results for March.

March 20 - March 24

We are continuing our unit on volleyball.  Students will put all the skills they have learned together to play volleyball games.

Study guides will be passed out this week.  Students will take their test next week on the first day they come PE. 

March 27 - March 31

Students will take their test on volleyball this week -- the first day they come to PE.

Students will play games of volleyball.

 April 3 - April 7

We are continuing our Fitness Testing this week.  Students will be tested on sit ups, push ups, pull ups, and the sit and reach test.  We will test on the Mile Run soon!

We are also running the 20 meter Pacer test and graphing our results for April.

April 10 - April 13

We are running the practice Mile Run this week.  Mile Run is next week!

April 17 - April 21

We are running the Mile Run this week.

April 24 - April 28

We are running the Mile Run this week.

We are also playing games in PE. 

May 1 - May 5

We are playing games in PE.

May 8 - May 12

We are playing games in PE.
