This version includes solos by Andrew Hopkins and Sanjeev Santhosh. They were unintentionally left off the version shown at the concert. I'm so sorry!

WCMS Orchestra Concert Express

The first four minutes of this video is blank but it officially starts at minute 4 or so. Scroll forward to see the video. I attempted to correct it in iMovie but I'm not sure how to upload it here again. So I figured it would be better to upload it imperfectly than not upload at all. I am not always tech savvy but I hope you enjoyed the concert.

H.S. Strings III Auditions

High school course selections are nearing. Strings I and II are the next courses for rising 8th graders. There is no audition required for Strings I or II. However, if your child is advanced and would like a more challenging musical course, they can audition for Strings III. When doing course selections, indicate your preference and the H.S. will place you in the appropriate course based on your audition. It is also possible to start out in Strings I or II and be moved during the school year. There is a bit more flexibility with H.S. course adjustments.
 

Strings III Audition Requirements: 

Song selection: Excerpt of your choice. (Bach violin concertos and cello suites are preferred but not required.)

Scales: melodic minor scale appropriate for your instrument (Violin – g melodic minor, Viola & Cello – c melodic minor & for Bass e melodic minor) all instruments should also prepare Ab major scale & B Major scale. Mrs. Fuller will accept 2 octaves but would prefer 3.

Video should be a clear view of yourself and instrument.

All West Audition

If you have not done so yet, I need anyone who is wanting to audition for All West this year (CVA especially) please send me an email today. (Tuesday, Jan 19).

WCMS 8th Grade

We have worked on a these Christmas Carols for only a few days. It is not as rehearsed as a traditional concert would be but I wanted to share a little of what our class sounds like during the pandemic. We have been having fun playing together. We miss our CVA students and hope that someday we will come together.

WCMS 6th Grade Jolly Old St. Nicholas

We have worked on a Jolly Old St. Nicholas for about a week. It is not as rehearsed as a traditional concert would be but I wanted to share a little of what our class sounds like during the pandemic. We have been having fun playing together. We miss our CVA students and hope that someday we will come together.

WCMS 6th Grade Jingle Bells

We have worked on a Jingle Bells for about a week. It is not as rehearsed as a traditional concert would be but I wanted to share a little of what our class sounds like during the pandemic since you're missing their first concert experience. We have been having fun playing together. We miss our CVA students and hope that someday we will come together.

WCMS 7th Grade Christmas Symphony

We have worked on a Christmas Symphony for about a week. It is not as rehearsed as a traditional concert would be but I wanted to share a little of what our class sounds like during the pandemic. all west 2020

All-West will be having virtual auditions this year. The music for each instrument is attached. Students will not be required to audition but interested students may learn the music on their own. CVA orchestra students are welcome to audition as well. Please contact me if your child is interested. I do not know yet if there will be a virtual clinic or if acceptance will be honorary. I will let you know, when I get more information. Auditions will be in January. The students will still be required to memorize scales as well. For Violin one octave C, G, A, F and Bb and two octave D. For Viola, Cello and Bass one octave C, D, A, F and Bb and two octave G. Additional octaves are optional.
