Rising Freshman Course Selection Tentative Schedule

February 6, 2024: 8th Grade Visits to CHS and 8th Grade Parent Night at CHS 6-8pm

February 7th through February 16th: PowerSchool Course Registration

• • • • • •      Middle School Counselor will meet with 8^th grade students

during their SS classes to discuss course selection

• • • • • •      Students/parents will enter their course selections in Power School
          •      Middle school counselors are responsible for:
          •      Guiding students through the course selection process; troubleshooting technical errors and answering parent/guardian questions

February 15^th:   Parent Teacher Conference 4-7

• • • • • •      CHS counselors will be available in the WCMS Library to answer course selection questions

February 20^th through March 15^th: Review Course Selections

• • • • • •      Middle school counselors are responsible for:
          •      Meeting with students one-on-one to review course selections in Power School and ensure completion of the four-year plan

March 25th through March 28^th: Verification

• • • • • •      High school counselors will come to CMS/WCMS and are responsible for:
          •      Meeting with 8th graders to review course selections and modify if needed

April 1st: High school counselors will bring final verification forms and any agreements to middle school counselors

April 2^nd: Verification forms sent home with 8th graders

April 4^th: Verification forms due to middle school counselors
